Welcome to St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church, Port Washington, Wisconsin, a congregation of nearly forty households in the northeast corner of the Episcopal Diocese of Milwaukee.

Our parish Mission Statement invites everyone to join in

  • Sharing the warmth of God's love.  Episcopal churches around the country have signs nearby saying, "The Episcopal Church Welcomes You."  We strive to make that welcome a reality through visitor-friendly worship, lively and informal Coffee Hours, parish dinners, and many other fellowship, educational, and outreach events throughout the year.  A small parish setting enables us to become friends as well as fellow-disciples: we care for each other, and pray for each other, as well as for the communities in which we live.
  • Worshiping in the historic Christian tradition.  Our central act of worship is the Eucharist, or Holy Communion, with enthusiastic hymn-singing.  Our liturgy is in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer, which allows both constant and variable prayers, both contemporary (Rite 2) and traditional (Rite 1) language.  In addition to regular Sunday celebrations, we observe most major midweek feast days.  All members, young and old, new and "old-timers," are encouraged to become worship leaders by greeting, reading, leading the prayers, serving as acolytes or as eucharistic ministers.
  • Casting our nets for new life in Jesus Christ.  In keeping with the mission of our patron saint, St. Simon (Peter) the Fisherman, we are called to reach out to the wider world both as evangelists — spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ — and as ministers to the larger community.  Our members are involved in a range of charitable and outreach activities, from "Habitat for Humanity" to "Interfaith Caregivers" to "Make-a-Wish" and more.  The parish leadership, the Vestry, is committed to dedicating a significant portion of our income to the needy, both near and far.

Please visit one Sunday and join us for
9 a.m. worship and for refreshments afterwards, and perhaps stay on for an adult Christian Education program.  As Jesus says, "Come and see" (John 1:39).

Yours in Christ,

The Rev. Julian V. Hills
Priest-in-Charge
