The Strom Thurmond Foundation Scholarship Program

The Strom Thurmond Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards financial aid to qualified South Carolina residents who demonstrate financial need based upon family income and the number of family members.  The Foundation was established in 1974 by Senator Thurmond with honoraria received from speeches, donations from friends and family, and from other acts of generosity.  It serves as a permanent testimony to his memory, and to his concern for the education of able students who have demonstrated financial need.

South Carolina residents who are enrolled or who plan to enroll in colleges or universities located in South Carolina are welcome to apply for financial assistance.  New applications should be submitted by March 1 prior to the first fall semester of anticipated college attendance.   Renewal requests should be submitted by December 1 for the following spring term or June 1 for the following fall term.  Click on the attachment link below to download the application and instructions.
