Greetings mutants. Updates are coming again. To begin with, there's a new comments section, and I'm thinking about incorporating a comments board into every article if it's feasible. Adjust your lives accordingly.

In this gem, a being that is either John Meadows or a centaur pretending to be him claims to have put on 5 lbs of muscle in 4 weeks as a borderline-pro bodybuilder from a phosphatidic acid supplement.

That in itself might be difficult to believe, but what's more, it was also done with a tube-strewn oxygen tank attached to his ailing body. 


He goes on to ask if I'm crazy, in my mind between wheezes into his oxygen mask as he rattles his toy wagon bearing the medical tank along and furiously curling a pink dumbbell in his other hand, and responds with an emphatic "yes!" just as I open my mouth to answer. And then, as suddenly as he appeared...he was gone. Mouth still agape, I was left to ponder what had just happened.

How long until I see results?

I see this question a lot and I think my answer to one encounter of it today addresses it pithily.

"There is no X date when you will undergo a transformation and that's when you've gained results. It depends on when and what you notice during the incremental process of change."

Toss out any notions of a certain number of weeks to whatever it is you want. Think of the big picture.

Bigger arms/chest/etc.

Paul Carter on his Facebook page answers this nicely. Remember, don't miss the forest for the trees.
"The best way for you to get bigger arms/chest/legs etc, is to focus on THAT bodypart with the understanding that you will still need to get bigger overall.
You're not going to build some big pipes just by doing curls and pushdowns without also adding mass overall to your body for the most part. Now if that area has been heavily neglected it's very possible.
So if you're asking 'how do I get bigger arms?' then my answer would be 'how would you get a bigger body?'

So prioritize your training on whatever it is you are trying to grow, however a caloric surplus and the same overall mentality that you need to grow top to bottom still has to be intact."

One of the few reasons to ever pick up a Muscle & Fitness issue is available online. There's a bounty of stupidly simple high protein recipes to make. I've already whipped together Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, turkey chili, and for breakfast ham and broccoli frittatas. Do your best to ignore the gaggle of half-naked men on the site's sidebar and focus on the food porn.

By the way, does anyone know what the hell a "frittata" is?

This has been a long-time goal of mine and I hit it without much trouble. Just a year ago I was at 265x6.

I'm moving the "Updates" page to the front-and-center of the site with a new blogger-friendly format. This will mean more updates and communication from me in general. You can also expect some interesting news tidbits, training developments of mine, and thoughts of the moment in this section. Unfortunately, Google is still a bitch about comments so until they add support for them (c'mon already) you still have to go to the dedicated Comments tab to talk back.
