The Index

Welcome to the land of Strat and his Long Term, Stress Free path to learning.  This is an index of the thread Strat's Long Term Stress Free Trading on Forex Factory and is intended to be a reference in your continuing education of Strat's methods.

This IS NOT a replacement for reading the entire thread, located Here.

Strat is very perceptive and will know straight away if some one is reading the cliff notes and trying to pass the exam.  The contributions of the members in the thread provide a very valuable resource and experiencing our journey will only enrich yours.

So enjoy the thread, utilize this index to reference and re-reference points and examples made in the forum, and remember LESS IS MORE...

PERSONAL REQUEST...

I am very pleased that people are learning and making profits from this thread. That was my reason for starting it - to give back. Interestingly, and I never thought about it, it is making me remember so many things I had forgotten or taken for granted.

Now a personal request - please do not post how many pips you made on this thread.
If you feel the need to brag (which is what I call it when I see posts with pips on), feel free to PM me.

The reason I don't like it is because I think it has more negative connotations than it has positives. For example, someone may post he made 900 pips on such and such a move whereas another trader may have only made 700 pips and thought he was doing really well until he read about the 900 pips. Also, there will be new traders and losing traders on this thread and pips made by the successful traders could force these new and losing guys to make trades that are not there.

Thank you.

Rock n Roll,
Strat

Here are a few one hit wonders...

Think of a train as your trend - get on board before the train leaves the station, keep getting on and off with more and more friends at each station en route, then all get off for good when it reaches it's destination BEFORE it gets on the turntable to turn around and go in the opposite direction.

The first thing, after identifying a trade MUST ALWAYS BE - WHAT IS MY RISK? Remember my earlier posts about millionaire and professional traders? The ONLY thing they care about is how much they can LOSE. Amateurs and all other traders think just the opposite - how much can they make.

Buy when it goes up and sell when it goes down.

"patterns, trends and most important of all recognize "correct" entry and exit points." These are only parts of price action - you cannot use these in isolation if you wish to be successful.

I trade TO LIVE, the losers LIVE to trade.

Professional Traders vs Amateurs
Here's a quote from the book, "Techniques of Tape Reading" , by Vadym Graifer and Christopher Schumacher - "Professionals take a trade when they are comfortable with the risk, while amateurs do it when they like the potential profit."

Trading is easy, trading psychology is hard

and so on...
