Jay Austin wants to sell used cars in the worst way… and that’s exactly how he does business at his dealership.  Promising much more than he can ever deliver, he’ll do whatever it takes to sell a car.  His manipulative ways permeate all of his relationships, even his wife and son don’t trust him.  But as Jay works on restoring a classic convertible, he begins to see that God is working on restoring him as well.  Coming face-to-face with the reality of how he truly conducts himself, Jay Austin begins the ride of his life as he learns to honor God with his business, his relationships and his life!

Thank you to all who sent me birthday cards.  They were all beautiful and I enjoyed reading them over and over.

First, I want to thank you for Helen Voelker's birthday cards.  She really enjoyed them.  I read them to her several times and she always wanted to know how many.  I also thank you for any and all kindness and expressions of sympathy shown upon Mother's death.  We all thank you.
                                - Janet, Tim and family

Thank you for all the birthday cards, gifts, thoughts, and Facebook wishes.  They were all appreciated.

News from Tarpon Springs, FL:
While in Florida this year, I called Frank and Ellen Barcus and they invited Vivian, Joe and me to visit on March 1 to help them celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary.  We had a great visit, which included a lot of reminiscing about their time here at St. Peter's.  Pastor Barcus served the Corydon Parish from 1955-1961 and they were the first to occupy our new parsonage.

Time and Talents / Growth In Giving Cards

St. Peter’s Time & Talent sheets and Estimate of Giving Cards

1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 12-14, 18-20  “ 4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;  5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord;  6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.  7 To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good…12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.  13 For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body -- Jews or Greeks, slaves or free -- and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.  14 Indeed, the body does not consist of one member but of many…18 But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.  19 If all were a single member, where would the body be?  20 As it is, there are many members, yet one body… 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

The above Scripture reminds us that we are all a part of this wonderful and diverse body of Christ in the world (if you have a moment, I highly encourage you to read the entire Scripture passage of 1 Corinthians 12).  It also reminds us that we are not all gifted in the same ways and that our difference of gifts is to be celebrated because they are all needed in order for this body to function.  With this in mind, I’d like to let you know that our 2013 time and talent sheets as well as estimate of giving cards are available.  We ask that you would take time to look over these items and then prayerfully consider where God is calling you to use your gifts.  Remember, God has gifted each of us uniquely and there is a place for each of our gifts to be used here at St. Peter’s.  If a place for your gift does not look to be on our time and talents sheet there is a place for you to write it in.  If you have any questions about what a certain area is or would require, please do not hesitate to ask, either Pastor Robyn or one of our council members.

Remember, discipleship is everything we do after we say that we believe.  Thank you for the ways in which you are a blessing to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
