Library Director Vicki Zelnick and Assistant Librarian Joe Mills are both extremely knowledgeable about our collection and happy to guide our patrons toward the information they are seeking.
The library participates in the Inter-Library Loan system, enabling patrons to order books -- free of charge -- from thousands of other libraries in Maine and the entire U.S. This service allows us to offer Island residents the whole world of literature and research.

Wi-Fi is vitally important in a small island town like ours. Our connection through Maine Schools and Libraries Network (MSLN) is fast and reliable. Your laptop or smart phone will have access 24 hours a day, inside or outside our building.
MARVEL! provides every resident of Maine with access to a collection of articles and abstracts from magazines, newspapers, and reference books. Registration is required for home use. Please contact the library if you need help.
The online catalog of the University of Maine system, Bates and Colby Colleges, the Maine State Library in Augusta, and the Bangor Public Library enables us to request materials for you through the Internet. Our librarian would be happy to show you how it works.
We are delighted to announce that our Stonington Public Library's collection of books can now be searched very easily and quickly, whether you are standing at the librarian's desk or sitting in front of your home computer.
By clicking on the Library World link here or above, it is now possible to see if the library has a book you are looking for by searching for the title or author or even a general subject. Try the various tabs that pop up; you will open at the "Home" screen, with a list of the latest books entered. Experiment with the different tabs. You may find that the one called "Simple" is a good way to start your quest!
