1 1/4 cup red wine
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce sauce
Juice and zest of 1/2 of an orange
2 cloves garlic
2 TBS grated fresh ginger
8 drum sticks, skin on

Put wine, brown sugar, teriyaki sauce, orange juice and zest, garlic cloves and ginger in a saucepan. Simmer for 30 - 40 minutes until the sauce is thick like honey. Remove from the heat and cool.
Using a sharp knife make 2 diagonal slashes through the skin and flesh of the drumsticks on each side. This will let the sauce permeate the meat.

Preheat the grill to medium-low.
Reserve about 3 TBS of sweet and sticky sauce to pour over the drummies just before servings. When grill is ready brush the drummies with the sweet and sticky sauce and put them on the grill and close the lid. Grill for 4 minutes, turn drummies and brush with sauce. Do this for 20 minutes. When tender and juices run clear they are done. Discard any sauce that has been used to baste the chicken. Drizzle the reserved sweet and sticky sauce over the drummies and serve.
