STONEGABLE SWEET AND TANGY BARBECUE SAUCE~ From StoneGable's Kitchen

2 TBS vegetable oil

1 onion, grated

1 garlic clove, pressed

1 cup ketchup

2 TBS cider vinegar

2 TBS Worcestershire sauce

2 TBS Dijon mustard

6 TBS molasses

1  tsp liquid smoke

2 TBS brown sugar


Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add onion and saute until soft, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, molasses, liquid smoke and brown sugar. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 25 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and emulsify with a stick blender. Refrigerate if not using immediately.
