Welcome to the 2016 Stomp Out MS with Color 5K Walk/Run, hosted by the Physical Therapy Student Organization at Central Michigan University!
The race is scheduled for April 16, 2016 at 11am.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Symptoms may range from mild (such as numbness in the limbs) to severe (paralysis or loss of vision). The progression, severity and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease. (Courtesy of

Help us to not only work towards providing this new hope to people living with MS, but to also increase awareness about MS while promoting the importance of an active lifestyle by participating in this walk/run. Our hope is to raise money to support Multiple Sclerosis research, and to provide further education to the community about this disease.

All proceeds will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Michigan Chapter.

Thank you for supporting this great cause!

This is a great race for those of all ages and abilities. The race course is relatively flat, and is on paved sidewalks and some grassy areas. Color stations will be scattered throughout the course, providing an added element of fun for this family-friendly race! Be sure to wear a white shirt on race day to take full advantage of the color experience!  The course will wind through the campus of Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant. First aid and water stations will also be placed throughout the course. Following the race, some light refreshments will be provided! Walk or Run

This is not a competitive race - we are racing for fun, raising money for a wonderful cause (MS Research). This will be a 5K course (3.1 miles) and you are welcome to run or walk! The course will be wheelchair accessible, as well.

What is a run with color?

It's awesome! The color is a simple colored cornstarch that will be tossed on participants at various locations on the race course. It's non-toxic and totally safe, but sunglasses are recommended and will be provided to prevent the cornstarch powder from blowing in your eyes. Wear a white shirt on race day to maximize the effects of the color!

Location and Parking
The Health Professions Building is located at the corner of Preston and East Campus Drive.  Parking will be available in Lot 8 at the North end or lots 18C and 27C west of the building.
