Jana Stoever

I am an environmental economist conducting empirical analyses, mainly at the intersection of environmental and development economics. Currently, I am a postdoc at the Chair of Environmental and Energy Economics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel.

My research is driven by the aim to make environmental factors visible in economic analyses and usable for policy decisions. To this end, I focus on two fields of sustainability economics: Firstly, I am analyzing policies and institutional aspects fostering sustainable development and secondly, I work on the measurement of sustainable development, focusing on indicators and green accounting.

I studied economics in Berlin, Jönköping and Seoul, specializing on econometrics and statistics and received my Ph.D. in economics from Hamburg University. On the more applied side, I have worked on environmental questions for the Hamburg Institute of International Economics (HWWI), the World Bank, the OECD and the GIZ, among others.
