God of the Centuries,

you have always guided your people

by raising up leaders among us and anointing them for

mission, ministry and service.

Your Son called his Apostles

to heal the brokenhearted and to become the first stewards

and preachers of the Gospel.

Hear our prayers today

and through your Holy Spirit send us a Bishop,

to nourish us with word and sacrament,

to set a paschal banquet of charity among these West Virginia hills,

to call us to mercy and justice and

to kindly serve all who seek your face.

We pray through Christ our Lord.

For the next five years, Saint Matthew Church is committed to pursue these goals as the top priorities for our parish mission:

1. To be visible in the community,
2. To set up text based communication
(website and email),
3. To involve more people in Youth Masses,
4. To continue efforts toward the parish hall, and
5.  to reach out to fallen away Catholics in the county.

Our Mission Statement

We, the Christian Community of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church,

commit ourselves to actively embrace

the Gospel values of faith, hope, and love,

expressing ourselves in a spirit of stewardship,

responding openly and prayerfully in service,

and reaching out to all through a

welcoming, listening, and respectful attitude.
