Tempera Batik

This process is made to resemble the batik fabric of Middle
East and Asia.  Students learn about the history behind the
process and then create their own batik-style paintings using
tempera paints and ink wash.  It is an intense project that
requires a lot of invested time, but the results are always
worth the wait.  Focus is on line, shape, color, texture,
and space.

Bugs Life

Students draw from the perspective of a bug.  This
process slows students down and encourages them to
look closely at details and relationships of size and
texture.  Focus is on line, shape, color, texture,
and space.
