As a member of our "Clean Sweep Team", you will be responsible for:

  • Sweeping: We will have 2-3 movie theater broom/dustpans available for sweeping cigarette butts, small trash items, instant tickets and litter. The gambling area gets dirty very quickly so frequent passes are needed in that area to ensure it remains clean.
  • Empty Trash Cans: The trash cans will need to be check frequently and full ones taken to the dumpster in the back of Borrelli Center. A new liner will need to be placed in the containers each time one is removed. Don’t forget to check containers inside Kulp Hall.
  • Tables: Remove trash items from abandoned tables and wipe tables with a clean dish rag. Don’t forget to clean tables in Kulp Hall.
  • Chairs: Place abandoned chairs at tables so that people can move about freely in between tables.
  • Abandoned Trash: Collect abandoned plates, cups and trash along the rectory wall, tables, stage area and in Kulp Hall.
  • Service hours for Confirmation and National Honor Society are available.

Silent Auction Volunteers: The silent auction committee is looking for volunteers to help with picking up auction items, helping set up the auction the week before festival and working a one or two-hour shift during the auction, just to walk around the auction to monitor auction items during the festival. This would be a great opportunity for high school students to get service hours. Anyone interested in volunteering, please e-mail Melissa Banyots, 614-218-1610, melissabanyots@yahoo.com Festival Memorial Fund: If you wish to contribute in memory of a deceased relative or friend, you may do so by using the special envelope which is in your envelope packet, or use any envelope with your name written on it. We will acknowledge all donations received in the bulletin. Festival Pizza: St. Margaret’s homemade pizza is from a recipe created by the women of the parish when the festival began. This tradition must continue! Many of the long-time volunteers from past years are no longer able to help us. We are in need of men, women, and school age children (with their parents!) that would like to help. This is a great way for your entire family to work together at the festival. We need help beginning at 3:00 pm on both Friday and Saturday. Help is also needed from a couple of high school students for approximately two hours with set up one night the week prior to the festival (can be flexible) and the Monday evening after. One of the advantages we enjoy is waiting for the dough to rise! During these breaks in the action we are able to go out and enjoy the festival during the evening. If you would like to join us contact Nikki Modlich, nikki.modlich@gmail.com Baking and Freezing We need your baking skills! The homemade desserts and baked good items are so popular that we run out every year and have to close the booth early, so please plan to donate one or more items. We are looking for pies, breads, muffins, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and cakes. Your help is most appreciated. Donated items should be dropped off the Friday and/or Saturday of the Festival in Kulp Hall. Pizzelles: If you have a pizzelle iron, please make a batch of pizzelles for the Festival. Make them when the weather is cool and keep them in the freezer until the festival.
