  • All Are Welcome Thanksgiving Dinner-This community dinner is sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church in partnership with St. Bernadette Catholic Community.  This dinner gives people from all circumstances and faiths a place to come and share a bountiful meal amidst the warmth of friends on Thanksgiving Day.  If you know of someone who may not have plans, no family in the area, lives alone or you and your family want to join others on this day, please consider telling them about the dinner. THE DINNER IS FREE AND ALL ARE WELCOME!                                                                             If you would like to give a financial contribution - envelopes are available in the church or contribution can be mailed to St. Joseph Church, 336 S. Queen St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.  The check should be made payable to St. Joseph Church and the notation of Thanksgiving Day Dinner                                                                    Volunteers are needed to have a successful dinner.  Please consider volunteering in 2-2 1/2 hour increments to make this work.  Please discern and send your email to jamschnkn@gmail.com or call 304-240-9396.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
  • Holy Hour for Hope and Healing- There will be a Holy Hour for Hope and Healing on Sunday, November 25th at 3:00 pm.  The event is an hour of Eucharistic Adoration to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for hope and healing.                                                                                                                                                                     
  •  Light Up For Christ -  The Knights of Columbus will "Light Up For Christ, Saturday, December 1st after the 5:00 pm Mass. Please join us at St. Joseph Church to bless and light the parish Nativity scene.  Through this grassroots program, Knights of Columbus councils throughout the Untied States, will be inviting the public to light a Nativity scene and/or Christmas tree in their parishes, from their council homes,in their private residences and within public parks around the country.  Help us to celebrate Keeping Christ in Christmas.                                                                                                                                                                                               
  • Traveling Chalice- The first full week in November is annually celebrated as National Vocation Awareness Week in the Untied States.  This week is dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.                                     Beginning on November 4, 2018, St. Joseph would like to demonstrate our prayerful support for vocations by initiating the "Traveling Chalice."  This encased chalice will be available on a rotating schedule to one household each week.  In taking the chalice, you commit yourselves not only to pray for future vocations, but also to offer prayers in thanksgiving for all men and women who have dedicated their lives in the service to the Church.  Everyone is invited to participate in this program.  There will be a sign-up sheet available in the back of the church.  We encourage you to sign-up for one of the weeks and then attend your designated Mass to receive the "Traveling Chalice."  Place it in the center of your family dining table or place of prominence in your home.   The chalice needs to be returned by Saturday on that week by 4:00 pm.
