Community Meal

Portage Community Free Meal
3rd Saturday of each month

11:30 am – 1 pm

St. John’s Episcopal Church
207 West Pleasant Street
Portage, WI 53901

History:

The Community Meal Program with the help of many churches, local organizations, youth groups and individuals has served meals since 1996. The core group of organizers are a community spirited group, both ecumenical and humanitarian.

Purpose:

An ecumenical gathering for nourishment and fellowship.  We welcome the whole community to this free meal.

How Accomplished:

The meal is prepared once a month at St. John’s Episcopal Church (because of central location and space is available without charge.)  We depend on donations and volunteers to make this possible.

Time Commitment:

The more volunteers we have, the less often volunteers have to work.  Ideally volunteers work once or twice a year.  We need 8-10 volunteers for each meal.

Opportunities To Help:
  • Food Prep, Set-up, Serve, Clean-up
  • Provide food
  • Be part of the core group of organizers
  • Be an individual volunteer
  • Organize your church or group to host a meal
Call Barb Chesney 608-742-6286 if interested

Remember:

You are always welcome to come and join us for companionship and good food on the third Saturday of the month.
