Chronology 2009

The following events were undertaken in 2009:

A meetings was held on 2nd February 2009.

The sixth AGM of St. John's Parish Heritage Group was held in St. John's Community Centre on 23rd March 2009. The officers elected were: (President: Donald Feeley), Chairman: Ciaran Egan, Vice Chairman: Paddy Kilduff, Secretary: Marian Gavagan, Asst. Secretary: Michael Connaughton, Treasurer: Liam Byrne, Asst. Treasurer: Margaret Egan, PRO: Richard Collins.

A meeting was held on 1st April 2009.

On 17th April 2009 Jack Kilcline, a founder member of the Group, its first Asst. Treasurer, noted local historian and Journal contributor, was buried, after Requiem Mass in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Meetings were held on 6th May, 3rd June, 8th July, 5th and 19th August.

During Heritage Week 2009 the Group put on a Display of Historical Documents on 22nd and 23rd August and held a walk in Rindoon on 29th August.

Meetings were held on 9th September, 14th October & 6th November 2009.

A report on achievements in 2009 was published in the newspapers in December.
