Walking Group: Tipperary Lane and Donard Forest

Our walking group had a wander around the edges of Newcastle on Wednesday (19th June). We followed the Shimna River up through Tipperary Wood.  It was easy to see where the water was coming from as it was raining heavily at the start of our walk but we were rewarded with a double rainbow as we reached the edge of Tollymore Forest. It stayed dry and the sun came out for most of the walk. We crossed open, wet ground to enter Donard forest and followed the Tullybrannigan River back down into town.

The next outing is a bus trip on Saturday 29th June when we go to the NorthWest with a walk at Binevenagh. Booking is essential for this and other bus trips – please contact Kevin McGlynn on 078 3596 0804 or kevin.mcglynn62@gmail.com if you are interested in coming along.
