Walking Group: Slievemageogh

Our walking group went to the Mournes on Saturday (14th April), but couldn’t find them. We presume that they were still there, just hiding in the fog. Undaunted we followed the trail to Slievemageogh (Sliabh Mhig Eothach: the mountain in McGeogh’s townland) where the views of the mist on all sides were spectacular. Nonetheless it was good to get out for a wee walk, to enjoy the crack and to work up an appetite which was then sated at Meelmore Lodge.

On Tuesday 17th we have our first midweek walk with a trip to Murlough, leaving St John’s at 7.00pm. Our next weekend walk will be back to the Mournes on Saturday 28th April. Hopefully the fog will have lifted by then as we go to Blue Lough, leaving St John’s at 9.00am.
