Walking Group: Quoile to Downpatrick

Our walking group returned to Downpatrick on Saturday (8th April) repeating the walk of a fortnight before with a different cast of walkers. Again we followed Jayne’s shore along the Quoile, explored the Mound of Down and Down Cathedral before ending at St Patrick’s Grave. Refreshed with a visit to the coffee shop in the Down County Museum we returned to the start. As with the trip a fortnight ago we enjoyed great weather, and this time we could see that the whin and blackthorn blossom was further progressed.

Our next outing will be our first mid-week walk of the year with an outing to Murlough on Wednesday 19th April, leaving the club at 7.00pm and the entrance near the 12 Arches Bridge at 7.15pm. On Saturday 29th we go to Slievemageogh in the Mournes. Our Spring/Summer schedule will be out soon.
