Walking Group: Killard Point

Our walking group had a busy morning on Saturday (3rd June) with stops at Struell Wells, Killard Point and Ballynoe Stone Circle. The first stop was short visit was for a look around at the wells with a short scramble up to St Patrick’s chair. We then moved onto Killard Point for the main walk of the day along the shore with plenty of seals hauled out on the rocks. We stopped at Ballynoe Stone Circle on the way back to base for a short walk back 4,000 years.

Our next outings will be midweek walks. On Wednesday 7th June when we go to Slievenaslat in Castlewellan Forest Park leaving the club at 7.00pm and the car park beside the lake at 7.15pm. On Wednesday 21st, the longest evening of the year, we go to Bloody Bridge, again leaving the club at 7.00pm and the car park beside at Bloody Bridge at 7.25pm. These walks are open to everyone – you don’t need to be a St John’s member.
