Walking Group: Causeway Coast

Our walking group enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the causeway coast cliff path on Saturday morning (24th February). This is five of the most outstanding walking in the country. It takes about twice the time as any other walk of similar distance as every turn brings views, and photo opportunities, to surpass the last. The famous causeway stones are only a small part of the whole experience.

The walk helped work up a healthy appetite. Fortunately the walk ended at the Causeway Hotel where a lovely lunch was served. Refreshed we headed to Bushmills for a tour of the world’s oldest licenced distillery. This did require product testing, purely scientific research for quality control purposes, and we managed to step up to the plate.

This was the last bus trip supported by the Public Health Agency (PHA) through the CLEAR Project. Part-funding was supplied by the PHA through this small grants scheme to improve the mental and emotional wellbeing of local communities.

Our Spring / Summer Schedule of walks is out now. The next walk will be on Saturday 31st March when we will follow parts of St Patrick’s way around Lough Money and Raholp. Mid-week walks resume on Tuesday 17th April.
