Walking Group: Bloody Bridge Coastal Path

Our walking group had a lovely stroll along the coastal path at Bloody Bridge on Tuesday evening (6th August). After a day of thunderstorms and torrential showers it turned out to be a lovely evening to be out and about as we explored the nooks, crannies and by-ways along this often neglected but very accessible stretch of coastline. The lightening had been replaced by slashes from St John’s Lighthouse, the thunder by sound of waves on the shore and the dark skies superseded by a warm evening glow.

Our next midweek walks will be to Donard Forest on Wednesday 28th August (starting from Donard Car Park at 7.20pm) and to Hunshigo Lake (near Ballyroney) on Wednesday  4th September.

Our next bus trip will be on Saturday 7th September when we set sail for the Ards Peninsula for a coastal walk and a visit to Echlinville Gin Distillery. We will be leaving St John’s at 9.00am. £10 for bus and £15 for distillery tour and tasting. Booking is essential for these and other bus trips – please contact Kevin McGlynn on 078 3596 0804 or kevin.mcglynn62@gmail.com if you are interested in coming along.
