Our Cherished Friend Siobhan

Following a huge public campaign to fundraise to help our playing member and cherished friend Siobhan McCann, it is with immense sadness that we were confronted with the harsh reality of news of her peaceful passing at home on Monday 6th May surrounded by her loving family.

As a club we acknowledge that we have lost a special member, an incredible player and a unique and loved friend. What that actually means in our hearts cannot be put into words as we cannot make sense of Siobhan’s passing.

As a club we pulled together with others in our Gaelic Family in an outpouring of love and hope to help her fight her illness. As a club we will come together again to grieve and share our precious happy memories of times with Siobhan. Those memories will live long in the fabric of St. John’s as will the memory of our beloved Siobhan.

All club activity will be suspended until further notice, but we ask you to keep Siobhan, her parents Brendan and Geraldine, her sister Grainne, her brother Ciaran and family in your hearts, thoughts and prayers.

The funeral will take place on 09 May 2019, 2pm at St. Mary of the Angels, Clanvaraghan, 38, Clonvaraghan Road, Castlewellan, Co. Down, BT31 9JX
