St. John's GAC Notes - W/C 10 April 2017

Social Media legend Rory's Stories has been booked for the club for Saturday 20th May

Another good performance from u-12 boys and girls last Sunday, winning 5.14 to 3.4. Too many good performance's to mention, it was a team effort from all 15 players.

Our U8s will start on Easter Monday at 6.o clock.

St John's insist that all parents stay for the hour of training with the 8s.

With a squad of 15, our Under 10s made the short trip to Dromara GAC for their first blitz of the season.

They played 4 very competitive games against Carryduff A & B, Loughinisland and Drumaness. The players displayed the all the skills they have learnt over the past few weeks.

If these boys and girls continue to represent St John's the way they did today the future looks very bright for the club.

Our walking group returned to Downpatrick on Saturday (8th April) repeating the walk of a fortnight before with a different cast of walkers. Again we followed Jayne’s shore along the Quoile, explored the Mound of Down and Down Cathedral before ending at St Patrick’s Grave.

Refreshed with a visit to the coffee shop in the Down County Museum we returned to the start. As with the trip a fortnight ago we enjoyed great weather, and this time we could see that the whin and blackthorn blossom was further progressed.

Our next outing will be our first mid-week walk of the year with an outing to Murlough on Wednesday 19th April, leaving the club at 7.00pm and the entrance near the 12 Arches Bridge at 7.15pm. On Saturday 29th we go to Slievemageogh in the Mournes. Our Spring/Summer schedule will be out soon.

Saturday 29th April                           Slievemageogh
