St. John's Childcare no longer has a contract with the California Department of Education (CDE).
We do have a tuition assistance program to provide spaces to families who are income eligible (generally limited to families whose combined income does not exceed $75,000 annually), and meet certain need and eligibility requirements. There is also a limited amount of scholarship funding from the City of Berkeley for low-income Berkeley residents.
All of our families are required to make a financial contribution towards their child's tuition. Sliding scale below is a guideline, generally we are not able to fund very many families at these rates. For example, for the 2012-2013 fiscal year, we distributed $48,000 in tuition assistance.
Income guidelines/Sliding Scale based on family of four
(subject to adjustment depending on family size, schedule and age of child)
Families of currently enrolled children with incomes between $75,000 and $100,000 will be
considered in the fifth/final category (20%) if funds are still available
