UNITED METHODIST WOMEN (UMW)

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Our special causes/activities include: Board of Child Care Auxiliary, Deaf Camp, Inc., E.S.C.A.P.E. Ministries, Inc., UMCOR (UM Global Disaster Fund), as well as Luncheons for the Howard County Retired Teachers Association.  The group has also recently supported scholarships for: Deaf Camp, Inc. at West River, CAMP HOPE, Samaritan’s Purse, Susannah Wesley House in Baltimore and Church World Service.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Sunday of each month September through June, immediately following church service.

The UMW also holds a Christmas Party in December and a “Ladies Night Out” in the summer.
