Saturday 3rd March, 10.00 - 13.00, Ludgate Church, Alloa

Would you be interested in volunteering with Syrian families being resettled in Clackmannanshire? If so, please sign up for our training and induction session. We're particularly interested in hearing from people who are interested in becoming befrienders or helping out at our monthly 'Snack and Chat' event where we bring all the families together. Other roles are also available. We'd also like to hear from people who can help the families make connections in their local communities e.g. through schools, businesses, sports and other activities.

If you have any questions, please email Rebecca on volunteerscfs@gmail.com

We are a group formed in June 2015 in the Stirling Council area, concerned about the plight of vulnerable refugees in Syria.  'Vulnerable Refugees' are identified by the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) and should not be confused with the complex, on-going migration crisis in Calais or other parts of Europe. (More info about UNHCR activities hereSee also note below about other groups.)

Check out the 3 minute video below for more information.

Operational costs are inescapable. If you would like to share in the financing of SCfS activities, please click on the 'donate' button below. Thank you. (P.S. Don't forget to Gift Aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer.)

Want to know more? Have a look at this video clip , this explanation or the petition that was presented to Stirling Council.

Stirling Citizens for Sanctuary are focussed on UNHCR-identified 'vulnerable refugees', the UK's 'Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme' and the role of Stirling Council and residents in the area served by it. There are, however, other major areas of concern which individuals can address in other ways:
