Salman Diyala-1

Reportedly the first Iraqi homebuilt helicopter, built by Hatim Kadim Salman of Muqdadiyah for the purpose of defending the Iraqi border. 30 million dinars ($24,000 USD) was spent on the construction of the aircraft, which is meant to be a cheaper alternative to the American AH-64D. Though the design is meant to be an armed gunship, it currently remains unequipped with any kind of armament and Hatim is unsure if it will actually fly. It was named the Diyala-1 after its home province.
