This is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Let's each be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics. 

Rev. Mark Christian Sermon Series

Though the UUA’s newly amended bylaws (mentioned this month in the messages from both our president and our pastoral care minister) no longer specifically lists the six sources our spirituality draws from, they are still important. Rev. Christian has decided to preach his next six months of first Sunday sermons on the six sources we have listed as the basis for our faith.

SouthWest Unitarian Universalist Summer Intergenerational (SWUUSI) All Ages Summer Camp

Our theme for 2024 is Muusings of the Muses! SWUUSI camp (Southwest UU Summer Institute) is covenant, community, relaxation, nature, worship, music, faith development, justice work, great food, and programming for all ages. 

Bring your family or just yourself to participate in the worship, workshops, Sunset talks, recreation and community fun that is SWUUSI. Lodging will be in the Brown Center Suites and the cottages or in your own RV on campus or there is a meals and programming only option for registration if you prefer to stay in Kerrville. All meals will be included (please indicate omnivore, vegetarian or vegan on the registration). Programming will include sessions for all ages as well as adult workshops with concurrent programming for children.

2024 Youth Summer Camps

We plan to offer many camp activities like camp swimming, archery, community service, walking the labyrinth, camp meetings, games, crafts, worship and U-cubed (our RE-like time lead by the UU camp chaplain). We will spend lots of time having FUN while we deepen our UU faith! Camps begin on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. and end on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. Primary camp for campers ages 9-11 or going into grades 4-6th - June 9-15, 2024 Intermediate camp - for campers age 12-14 or going into grades 7-9th—June 16-22, 2024 Senior camp - for campers age 15-18 or going into grades 10th-2024 hs graduates—June 23-29, 2024 See https://www.ubaru.org/summer-camps for further info.
