A Message from Father Donald
Our Bi-parish Sunday Evening Mass

Beginning July 1, the 6:00 p.m. Sunday Mass will move from Saint Ignatius Martyr church to the beach. Held on Long Beach Blvd., it will begin at 6:30 p.m. It will return to our church on September 2.

This Sunday evening Mass is a joint effort of our two Long Beach parishes. It is connected with our bi-parish middle school religious education and confirmation preparation program. For 10-months of the year it is held in Saint Ignatius church which is much larger than Saint Mary’s. In July and August it is held on the beach and attracts many from our two parishes and a much wider area.

Decades ago, both Saint Ignatius Martyr and Saint Mary of the Isle had three priests each assigned to minister in the parishes. Now we have just the two pastors and share Father Anthony with Point Lookout and Island Park as well. It becomes more and more necessary for us to cooperate and offer services together. That is why there can be only one Sunday evening Mass on the barrier island. When it moves to the beach by popular request for the summer, we do not have the personnel to continue it in the church building as well. I trust all our parishioners will understand.

Spring Bible Study  - The Acts of the Apostles

The Acts of the Apostles provides rich insight into the working of God through the Holy Spirit to establish churches in cities large and small. We will see how Peter, Paul and others interacted with a sometimes hostile environment. It is this same Holy Spirit who breathes in us today.

We will be using the study guide Acts in the “N. T. Wright for Everyone Bible Study Guides” series (date 2010).

                     Parish E-Letter
We have begun publishing out E-Letter to our parish members. If you have completed your census forms or have been receiving our email newsletters in the past, you will be on our list. It hopefully will be sort of a mini-bulletin to keep you abreast of what's going on in the parish. Look for it in you new e-mails today.

                    Give On-Line

Our parish offers an online donation system to permit one-time or recurring online giving to support the parish and diocese.  If you are interested in this process please click here:

Rosary Altar Society

The Rosary Altar Society Mission

With devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are committed to praying the Rosary for world peace and the spiritual benefit of all peoples.

As Rosarians, we have a special privilege of ministering to the care of the Altar, preparing linens and assisting with decorations for holidays and special events.  We also conduct fundraisers and participate in other activities as needed for the benefit of the Church.

The Rosary Altar Society offers a deeper connection to the church for all and provides a forum to meet, discuss and participate in current events at our Church.

On Thursday, July 12, the Society will host its
Annual Luncheon at the Bridgeview Yacht Club, in Island Park
For information and tickets, please contact
