Ali Dabiri, PhD.

Dr. Dabiri is the Director and Project Manager of the STG Corporation as well as president of Dabiri Foundation.

He was Chief scientist/Director of engineering in the Technology Development Group at SAIC. He was with the company for 25 years till 2004. He received the highest ranking technical achievement award called” Life Time Achievement Award For Excellence in Technical Innovation.  Dr. Dabiri was a member of Executive Science and Technology Council (ESTC) at SAIC.  ESTC is dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements in science and technology.  He was in charge of TQM training for about 400 engineers and scientists.  He was in charge of the group projects technical review for 10 years.  He made certain that quality was designed into the product and activity. He has managed many Multi-Million dollar projects.

He has over 40 years of experience in solving technical problems and project management. His expertise includes nuclear power plants, accelerator systems, sensor technology for environmental, counter-drug and counter proliferation applications, energy systems and desalination, surface physics, and fusion energy engineering.

He was managing the power plant availability project. In this project the reliability of every component was evaluated and a fault tree analysis method was used to estimate the availability of the power plant. Dr. Dabiri earned his MS. and PhD. from MIT, and has over 80 publications in the areas of energy systems, accelerator technology, sensors, fusion energy technology, surface physics and desalination. He has twelve patents in the areas of biomedical technology, and water desalination.

Matthew Hedayet, PhD., PE., MBB.

Dr. Hedayet is the CTO of Stanford Technical Group, and a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, with proven track record in consumer, medical, and commercial products for Fortune-100 companies, such as: ABC, BBC Brown Boveri, Deutche Babcok, Motorola, Philips, J&J, and HP for the last 25 years. He has demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional engineering, operation, marketing, and quality teams worldwide, to properly specify and scope technical requirements, deliverable, schedule, and budget. Expert in coaching, training, workshops, and root-cause analysis.

Matthew started his Quality Improvement activities as part of the Motorola 6-Sigma University, and continued with Process Excellence Program in J&J, and Lean Sigma Program of HP. He is the winner of STAR, IMPACT, and Lincoln Awards.
He has managed multi-disciplinary functions teams, and is responsible for several product development in Steam Power Plants, wireless, hand-held, medical device, and Servers, from concept to launch, executing project-based tactical solutions and delivery of bottom line results.

He has 19 publications, several patent submissions, and has traveled to more than 35 countries.
Dr. Hedayat has broad practical background for effectively leading successful product development, reducing total product cost., leading Kaizen Events, managing change, implementing Just-in-Time (JIT), Zero-Defect, FMEA, Kanban or value streams, by selecting and managing projects with contract manufacturing facilities (ODM/OEM) around the world, develop Business Cases by presenting Return on Investments (ROI), Return on Assets (ROA), Net Present Value (NPV) analysis, and TQM.

He is also an Adjunct Professor at UCSD and National University; teaching Total Quality Management (TQM) and Working with 20 Teams of students every Quarter, developing variety of Industry-Sponsored Projects from Defense & Safety to Commercial Electronics. Dr. Hedayet earned his graduate degrees from University of Florida, and Florida Atlantic University. He is a Resident Expert with CONNECT and a member of American Society of Quality-ASQ and a volunteer in Public School Science Academy.


Alex Simpkins, PhD.

Before joining STG, Dr. Simpkins was the co-founder of RDP-Robotics. His specialties include:Control theory (optimal control, classical control, system identification, real-time control), mechanical engineering, engineering design, electrical and electronics engineering, robotics, rapid prototyping, programming (C/C++, Matlab, etc), motion capture, cognitive science (sensory motor control, artificial intelligence, machine learning), psychology (computational models), martial arts (instructor for 18+ years, 3rd degree black belt), teaching/instruction, project management. He has over eight publications.

Dr. Simpkins earned his BS, MS, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor in Psychology from University of California, San Diego.

Marie M. Nori

Ms. Nori is the Owner and President of the STG. She has been Research Associate with several consumer and biotech companies and National Food & Drug Control Laboratories, developing qualitative and quantitative tests on a wide range of raw and processed food, and medicinal products. Her expertise are in the DNA & RNA purification, Restriction Digestion, Gel Electrophoresis, Traditional and TOPO-TA Legation Process, UV Spectrophotometery for qualification of DNA & RNA, and protein purification. In addition to formulating and developing chemical reagents and experimental ink for printing purpose by characterizing physical and chemical properties of the final products through: % solids, density, pH, viscosity, surface tension, electric conductivity, particle sizing (AccuSizer & Nanotrac), and UV-VIS spectrophotometer. Ms. Nori has been the research associate for Hewlett-Packard, Pfizer, and Gen-Probe. She received her MS from San Jose State University, and is a Green Belt in six sigma.


STG-Consultant Associates:

Shayan Behzadirafi; PhD.

Dr. Behzadirafi's education and work experience are concentrated on Electrical Power Grid Management. He has worked for CCG, IRITEC,  and IGMC, Electrical Grid Management Company, for 9 years. His PhD. work at University of North Dakota was about Communication and Cloud Computing in Smart Grids. He has received 7 Awards, and pubished 2 Books and 8 Papers.

Daniel C. Castle


Dan, a Senior Examiner at Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and a Program leader with verifiable year-after-year success in cutting costs, improving quality, increasing capacity, reducing inventory, shortening lead time, and growing revenue. Experienced in delivering results in start-ups, high-tech, R & D, high-volume manufacturing and high-volume service businesses. Demonstrated effectiveness as both direct manager of large support groups and as program manager of very large world-wide teams of engineers and internal consultants. Directly managed budgets in excess of $200 million and led process improvement programs enabling delivery of $500 million in improved financial results. Sadri Khalessi, PhD.

Dr. Khalessi is a skilled mathematician who has delivered actual tangible results for major corporations worldwide. He was the VP of Operational Excellence and Global Quality for Asea Brown Boveri in Switzerland, and has maintained executive positions with Philips Semi, and Griffin. He is a Master Black-Belt, and an Adjunct Professor with Stanford University.


David Afshar

Certified Six Sigma Black Belt by the company that invented Six Sigma.  Comprehensive experience in quality systems (ISO9001, TL9000, and TS16949) and semiconductor fabrication processes.  Background includes working in overseas evaluating and qualifying new manufacturing lines.

He has worked with Motorola for 16 years, Provided expertise in quality systems, business processes, and manufacturing improvements as well as quality tools and training as the key technical interface between suppliers and hardware development group. He received his BS. And MS from University of Missouri, Columbia.

Certifications: Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO9001 Lead Auditor, Project Management Professional, and Professional Engineering Certified.

Aydin Babakhani; PhD.

Dr. Babakhani is a Post-doctoral Scholar in Electrical Engineering Department at Caltech High-Speed Integrated Circuits Laboratory.
His expertise are in Near-field and radiation analysis of integrated circuits and antennas, Convergence of circuits and electromagnetics in submillimeter-wave and THz frequencies, High-frequency nonlinear harmonic generation in CMOS, and Self-calibrating millimeter-wave transceivers. Aydin has held the positions of Vice Chair of the IEEE Microwave Theory & Techniques Society, and Vice President of the Caltech Entrepreneur Club.

Ahmad Sajadi

Mr. Sajadi has over 28 years of experience in medical device industry in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Product Development / Design Excellence, and Production and Process Controls. Effective implementation of functioning Quality Management Systems. Proven track record for strategic business approach, leadership and planning skills to create and achieve quality and regulatory compliance objectives. Proficient in worldwide compliance requirements in a highly regulated industry. Experienced managing engineering functions within quality / compliance to support product development, acquisitions, sustaining and operations in a multi-product and multi-facility manufacturing environment. Effective in resolution of systemic deficiencies and/or non-compliance issues associated with the FDA, ISO, EPA, OSHA and EN requirements.
Prior to STG, Mr. Sajadi was the Vice President of Development Quality Assurance of Cardinal Health, Director of Quality at Alaris Medical Systems, and Manager of Regulatory Affairs at IMED Corp. He received his MS. in Microbiology from California State University. Mr. Sajadi is a member of ASQ.
