BOOM is a collection of C++ classes for Bayesian computation.  The name stands for Bayesian object oriented modeling.  The fact that it is also the sound that your computer makes when it crashes is a bonus.

BOOM exists as raw C++ and as an R package.  The raw C++ does not depend on R (though it uses some code from R, some of it modified to make it more graceful in C++).  The R package is intended to supply the C++ libraries in a way that several subsequent R packages can be written against BOOM without importing the full BOOM source into each one.

You can now download BOOM through CRAN.
