Rupp has foot surgery / Centro leaves NOP

Galen Rupp, 2012 Olympic silver medalist in the 10,000 meters and 2016 bronze medalist in the marathon,
is recovering from surgery on his left foot. He has a condition called Haglund's Deformity,
a bony bump on his heel that was causing his Achilles tendon to fray.

Matthew Centrowitz has left the Nike Oregon Project. He is helping Andy and Marcia Powell at Washington.

In 2016 Centrowitz became the first U.S. runner to win Olympic gold in the 1,500 since 1908.

Centrowitz, 29, joined the Oregon Project in November of 2011 after leaving the University of Oregon,

where he was a three-time conference champion and the 2011 NCAA champion in the 1,500 meters.
