4. Reinstatement of the Deans of the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Music, and the School of Business Administration on the President’s Board, with full voting rights. SFU Back burner: At a Spring 2011 A&S meeting Faculty voted in favor of a motion asking for just this, sponsored by Dr. R Kindred.
3. Faculty determined merit pay criteria at the College, Division, and Department level inclusive of faculty input in the determination of raises. SFU University Faculty Compensation Committee is addressing. Dec. 9 2011 Faculty meeting.
5. Restore retiree benefits to former status SFU We voiced support for this position at the October Senate meeting & we issued a statement condemning the administration's refusal to listen to the Senate on this issue.
1. Fair compensation for all faculty SFU September 2011: Won a 3% raise pool + a $225K equity "raise" pool. March 21 2011: Fac Sen motion requesting at least 6% raise pool AY 2011-12. Jan 2011 meeting with provost: suggested that spending increases be tied to increases in faculty compensation. Not yet resolved, but 12/2011 we won additional $184K raise pool + the transparency of the 2011 faculty compensation report + a commitment from the administration to bring faculty salaries to parity with peer schools (currently we're below the 25th percentile).
2. Permanent faculty representation with voting rights at the table where budgets and budget priorities are decided; that is, we petition for meaningful faculty representation in all meetings in which decisions that might affect faculty compensation or the faculty raise pool are decided. SFU October 2011: Won access to Audited Financial Statements. September 2011: Bunsis financial analysis of SU. Supporting rewriting of SU Faculty Handbook
