We are an active parent and teacher organization  serving South Topsail Elementary School in Hampstead, NC. Go Stingrays! This site will be updated throughout the year with information about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising efforts and PTO Board meeting minutes. If you have any questions, or would like to volunteer, please feel free to contact any Board member or join us for one of our monthly meetings. Spirit Night @ Chick-Fil-A Porter's Neck. 
Oct. 4 - 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Come out and support South Topsail at the new Chick-fil-A in Porter's Neck on Oct. 4 from 5-8 p.m.! A portion of your sales will be donated back to our school, just be sure to tell them your supporting South Topsail when you check out. Drive thru orders count too, so don't forget to mention South Topsail when you place your order. We'll need help manning the dining room that evening, so please email pto@southtopsailpto.com if you can help! The classroom with the most student turn out will win a Chick-fil-A nugget tray!


Volunteer Opportunities & Upcoming Events  
Our PTO has exciting fundraisers planned for this year, & we need your help executing them! If you’re willing to volunteer, please email: pto@SouthTopsailPTO.com. We need more help than ever, so please consider lending a hand. All fundraising proceeds go towards purchasing instructional supplies, facility improvements & PTO yearly needs for our school. Our specific volunteer needs are:

·     Spirit Wear (class T-shirts) – Need help collecting and organizing orders forms & distributing T-shirts to classes.

·     Fall Festival – Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.  We need volunteers to help set up, work games & clean up. Help needed organizing raffle baskets and manning tables day of festival. DJ needed for festival.

·     Family Fun Nights & Restaurant Spirit Nights – Help needed with event coordination. Our 1st spirit night is Oct. 4 at Chick-fil-a Porters Neck!

·     Boosterthon Fun Run – March 18 - March 28, 2019. We need help passing out prizes to students in the morning after announcements.

Class T-shirts
Show your school spirit with a class T-shirt! Purchase a class t-shirt for $8/student or $10/adult (sizes S-XL). These shirts help teachers keep up with their students on class trips and during other school events. We'll also be wearing our shirts this year on restaurant spirit days! Download the order form. Checks can be made payable to STE PTO.


Box Tops Needed!

Help raise money for our school by clipping Box Tops on participating items! We receive 10 cents per box top, and that adds up quick! You can turn box tops in via the Box Tops Mailbox located outside the main office, or just send them in a ziplock inside your child's folder. We will ship Box Tops off in November and March, so please start the year out by turning some in!



Link Shopping Accounts
Harris Teeter & Lowes Foods. Don't forget to re-link your Harris Teeter VIC card yearly. Beginning August 1 you can link your card to South Topsail Elementary. This is a one time sign up process that must take place each school year. The school of your choice is linked to your VIC card until May 31. You can also link your Lowes Foods card to South Topsail Elementary. Ask a store associate at each store to help you get linked to our school!

Volunteer/Security Badges - Background Check Info

If you plan on volunteering at STE often,  chaperoning field trips, and would like expedited check in/check out at school, you'll need a volunteer/security badge. This badge indicates that you have been background checked and approved to volunteer with our students on a regular basis. If you'd like to have a badge, you will first need to complete this Background Check.  Background checks are valid for 3 Years. After this timeframe, background checks must be completed again before the PTO can reissue a volunteer badge. Cost for a new badge is $5.

If your background check is approved, please print off the confirmation email and send it into school with your $5 badge payment. You can send it in your child's folder in an envelope marked PTO.  We will create a badge for you and send it home in your child's folder.  Otherwise dates and times will be announced for badges to be made or reissued, or you can email pto@southtopsailpto.com to schedule an appointment to have your badge made.

School Supply Lists

2018-2019 supply lists are posted! Please send your child into school with the supplies listed for their grade. You may send in items on Open House night (TBD) or on the first day of school.

Shoparoo is an easy App to use to turn your grocery shopping receipts into donations for our school. Simply take a photo of your receipt within the Shoparoo app and a portion of your purchase will be donated to STES. Some of the store receipts accepted are: grocery stores, Target, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond,  Walgreens, CVS, etc. Download the free Shoparoo App in the App Store or on Google Play! Last year, we raised approximately $200 for our school, and we know we can do better this year with your help!
