I am currently a Full Professor and the R. Means Davis Jr. Professor in the Department of Risk Management and Insurance at Georgia State University's Robinson College of Business.  My research focuses on household credit risk, and on the income risk and income dynamics of individuals and couples.

I have a bachelors degree from Princeton University (1998) and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University (2003), where my dissertation advisor was John Y. Campbell.

I have been an assistant professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (2003-2007) and at the Johns Hopkins University Department of Economics (2007-2011). I also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Microeconomic Analysis in the Office of Economics Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury (2011-2012).

At Georgia State, I chair the faculty affairs committee for the Robinson College of Business.  I also serve as executive director of the S.S. Huebner Foundation for Insurance Education.
