Branches of Federal Government by Mrs. Stelle (editing helpby Mrs. Gray)
sing to : This Old Man

We have three branches of government
to keep the power spread evenly.
Each citizen has a voice in their vote.
Our republic is a democracy.

Executive, the president
carries out laws of our government.
We elect our prez for four years at a crack
Republican or Democrat.

Senators, Representatives,
our legislative congress
turn ideas into bills, then laws
then rewrite them to get rid of flaws.

The Supreme Court is  the judicial branch
Nind judges  all sit on the bench.
They decide what our Constitution meant.
Courts can interpret and change the laws.
