CV or resume, along with an appropriate description of your experience as a writer (in any field, including those outside your profession)
Discussion of audience, need, and competitionWho is this book for? In what ways does your book serve its intended audience? Why does your book matter? How will it help? How is your book different from or better than other books on the same or similar topics currently available. Be as specific as possible and make sure and address all 3 areas (audience, need, competition). We suggest discussing anywhere from 2 to 7 competing titles. Be thorough but be succinct (1 paragraph to 1 page for this whole discussion; bulleted presentation of information is fine). Present your strongest case for why this book is important to you, to its audience, and to Safer Society Press and its mission.

Most of our authors are professionals in their area of expertise—not professional writers. And while this procedure can seem formal, and even daunting, it’s best to use your common sense and let your voice as a writer, professional, and human being come through. We’re looking for a good book that will advance the field. Maybe it’s yours.
