I am a volcanologist affiliated with the Department of Terrestrial Magnetism of the Carnegie Institution for Science.

My research interests include:
  • Physical volcanology, particularly of dome-forming, explosive, and glaciovolcanic eruptions
  • Statistical analysis of volcanological time-series to study eruption processes
  • The response of volcanism to external influences such as deglaciation and earthquakes
  • Using tephrochronology to constrain volcanic eruption histories/processes and for palaeoenvironment reconstruction.
