The Steele Cookin' Band

Did you miss your favorite music festival this year?  Do you yearn for the jam bands of the past or present that delivered you a “feel good” moment and made you forget your troubles?  Do you want to travel through time and hear all the great jam bands at the same time?  The Steele Cookin’ Band is a tribute to all the great jam bands circa August 15, 1969 to the present.  If you would like to hear Johnny Winter, The Black Keys, Janis Joplin, Grace Potter, ZZ Top (early years), The Alabama Shakes, Jimi Hendrix, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Tedeschi Trucks then you need to see the New Steele Cookin’ Band.

The Steele Cookin’ Band is a musician’s band with energy, professionalism and tone that music lovers are going to respect and love.  They are music fans themselves and love artists that stay true to their music and message.  The band is highlighted by the guitar of Teddy Steele who delivers tone and tenacity to his bluesman reputation.  The vocals of Rebecca Tinsley are versatile and powerful.  The rhythm section of Ashley Steele (bass), Tom Pridgeon (drums) and George “Cod” Bowen (sax, slide, harmonica) provide the groove to make you move.

Teddy Steele has been a well-known figure in the blues scene of Southwest Virginia and has played The White Mountain Boogie and Blues Fest and Cincinnati Blues fest with Deborah Coleman and Albert Cummings.  Steele has played with Jimmy Thackery, Wes Jeans, Lance Lopez and Mark Stutso of the Nighthawks.
