We have an arm of the organization that is a registered non-profit 501c3.  Yep, thats right, you can legally deduct contributions to this side of the organization from you taxes.  You can click here to see that we are registered and a legal place to donate to.  This arm of the group focuses on ARES and RACES.

What is ARES and RACES?
Amateur Radio Emergency Service is a volunteer radio communications service available to federal, state, county and local government, as well as not-profit organizations. ARES® consists of more than 600,000 U.S. amateurs nationwide who have voluntarily registered their services and formed an organized pool of operators to provide reliable primary or secondary communications links for governmental agencies and/or not-profit organizations when needed. 
Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service administered by local, county and state emergency management agencies, and supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the United States government. It is a part of the Amateur Radio Service that provides radio communications for civil-preparedness purposes only, during periods of local, regional or national civil emergencies. These emergencies are not limited to war-related activities, but can include natural disasters such as fires, floods and earthquakes.
