posted Oct 27, 2011, 3:14 PM by Andrew Rosenthal

Following the regular 6pm Startup Tribe meeting, we're joined by members of the HLS entrepreneurship community for a special program:

"How lawyers help get startups financed, staffed, and ready for prime time"

Monday, November 14th, 6:30pm at the Harvard iLab

Lawyers who represent startup founders are often the crucial link to finding funding, key staff members and board members. Come learn how founders work with their lawyers, how lawyers interface with venture capitalists on behalf of their clients and what lawyers look for in taking on (and investing in) promising startups. A panel discussion with Lee Schindler of WilmerHale, Sarah Reed, General Counsel at Charles River Ventures and Marco Bitran, CEO and Founder of AI Exchange. Following their initial discussion, the panelists will interview and advise Vaiad founders Omar Restom (HBS '12) and Douglas Melchior (HBS '11) to show the audience the types of questions that founders need to be able to answer in order to secure legal representation and venture financing. Dinner Served (Thai food). Co-Sponsored by the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project and the HBS Startup Tribe.
