  Dear Mr. Secretary,

On behalf of the members of the United States Naval Reserve Midshipmen’s  School , NY, NY Alumni Group I’m  writing  to express our thanks  and appreciation for the recent very excellent U.S Navy Update presented  at our 20th Annual Reunion in Washington, District of Columbia.

It was given to us by the Honorable Sean J. Stackley,   Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Research, Development and Acquisition.

We are the Association that attempts to preserve for posterity   memories of the graduates of 26 Classes  and  some 25,000 individuals who were commissioned Ensigns USNR during the period 1941 – 1945.

I have been attending our reunions since 1994 and I can honestly say that this years  banquet speaker Sean Stackley  without doubt pleased his ladies and gentlemen audience so much more than they’ve experienced before. Also he provided each of our Veterans a treasure chest CD containing a slide show of today’s Navy and Marine Corps and in particular the Sailors and Marines. In addition each member received a large color photo of multiple guided missile destroyers launching their first salvo during operation Desert Storm. Our special Thanks to you Mr. Secretary for your personally autographing each copy.

I would like to relate what I consider an important episode that also occurred that evening. In the hotel lobby before he proceeded to the banquet room he greeted  6-8 uniformed U.S. Navy Officers  and conversed with them for at least 15 minutes  and coming to them as an advocate of the Secretary  of the Navy. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Very sincerely,
