While the Lady Panthers played with only one substitute, the 11 on the field dominated the Vikings for 70 minutes. It only took for Chloe Thompson to find the back of the net on a beautiful lofted ball from just inside the box over the keepers outstretched hands and just under the crossbar for a 1-0 lead. Northgate established some possession over the next four minutes, and earned a solid strike on goal, but keeper Zoey Stellman was up to the challenge with a terrific save to keep the clean sheet in tact. The last 20 minutes of the half became the Chloe Thompson/Anna Parker show putting tremendous pressure on the Viking back four and breaking them down three times in the final 20 minutes of the first half with some nice give and gos. Chloe Thompson finished two of them and Anna Parker found the net for her first goal on the night. The Lady Panthers lost another player for the game in Lauren Ambrose came out due to injury. But Coach Fleming had no problem calling on eighth grader Jacqueline Reardon, one of our keepers, to step in and she played an outstanding game at outside back. The Lady Panthers held a 4-0 halftime lead.
The Lady Panthers came out of halftime fired up and earned a quick score with the always aggressive Chloe Thompson stepping in front of a misplayed ball in the Viking backfield to earn her fourth goal on the night and a 5-0 lead just into the second half. With left in the game, the Vikings made a mistake deep in their half and allowed Lady Panther midfielder Ali Rumpel to tee one up and she hammered a rocket right through the Vikings keeper's gloves giving the Lady Panthers a resounding 6-0 lead. After several good runs on the night from freshman Lexi Edwards, she got loose on the far side and played a long bending cross towards the far post and it found the foot of a sliding at full speed Anna Parker for the finish and her second goal on the night with to go. frustration set in for the Vikings and they picked the wrong player to trip in the box, Chloe Thompson, who made them pay with her 5th goal on the night into the upper right corner on the PK. The score stayed 8-0 the rest of the way giving the Lady Panthers their sixth win in a row and a 7-1 record on the season. They will have a week to heal up and prepare for a home match against Sandy Creek. Come out and support the team!
