The Starr's Mill Lady Panthers JV Girls took their winning streak over to the new MOBA facility in Peachtree City for a rematch with the Whitewater Lady Wildcats. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Lady Panthers brought their attack and a stifling defense. The Lady Panthers defense yielded only a handful of weak shot attempts and controlled the game from the opening minute. The Lady Panthers earned their first of nine corners on the night at the 30:00 minute mark of the first half and just missed on a loose ball in front of the WW keeper. Two minutes later Lauren Ambrose was hustling up the right side when Sara Evans sent a penetrating ball through that the WW center back misplayed and it found the right foot of Ambrose, who did not miss on her shot, giving the Lady Panthers a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the half saw the Lady Panthers maintain superior possession, but couldn't find the net on several good opportunities. However, that 8th grader again, Chloe Thompson, found the ball just outside the box and beat the two WW center backs with a hard shot on goal that the keeper couldn't handle cleanly. The ball bounced out to an oncoming freshman, Heart Williams, who completed the deal bottom right and a 2-0 halftime lead.

The second half saw the Lady Panthers defense step it up and shut down any realistic scoring opportunity. "The Emmas" (Valli and Smallwood) played outstanding at their outside back positions while the centerbacks, Mary Jane Gagliano and Haley Grebek were rocks in front of the Lady Panthers Keepers all night. The Mill had several great scoring opportunities late in the game, but saw their shots sail wide of the goal until Chloe Thompson tallied another goal on the season with a strong finishing run and stellar 1v1 attack on the back to beat the keeper lower left and complete the 3-0 victory. The win moves the Lady Panthers to 6-1 on the season. The Lady Panthers will go for their 6th win in a row Thursday night at 7:00 pm on the road against an always tough Northgate Vikings lady's soccer team.
