Strategy Issues

During the 1990s an array of strategy guidelines was offered by consultants, executives, and academics to guide business strategy formulation. These strategy paradigms propose a range of actions, including reengineering the corporation, implementing total quality management, building core competencies, reinventing the organization, and strategic partnering. It is not feasible to review the various strategy approaches that have been developed into many books, seminars, and consulting projects. Instead, we look at whether choosing the right strategy matters, followed by a discussion of several characteristics that are common to the more popular strategy paradigms
