About Us

Town of Stanford Master Plan Committee

An Open Government Process

WHO AND WHAT WE ARE:

In March 2010 the Stanford Town Board formed a Master Plan Committee to revise the Town's Master Plan, which has been in effect since 1980. The work of giving the Town Board a stand-alone new draft Master Plan is the mission of the Master Plan Committee. We currently have 7 members on the Committee.

WHEN WE MEET:

Since the Committee completed the draft Master Plan in Spring 2012, it has been meeting occasionally on an as-needed basis.  Contact the Chair at  glovett53@gmail.com to find out when the next meeting will occur.

OPEN PROCESS:

The Committee embraces the principles of open government, insuring that all citizens have access to committee proceedings.

HOW WE HAVE DONE THAT:

At our meetings, the first 15 minutes are "privilege of the floor", such as happens at Town Board meetings. Citizens are given the opportunity to express their views and concerns to the Committee.

All of our meetings are audio recorded and CD’s are kept on file in our Town Clerk’s office for anyone’s access. All of our meetings have published minutes (see "Meeting Notes"  page on this web site).

INFORMATION AVAILABLE:

This web site contains the maps, documents and other information we are using to develop the updated Master Plan, including the current Master Plan and reports of previous committees.   It also contains our meeting minutes.

ONGOING UPDATES:

We are hoping to be able to post information around town as to what we’re currently working on and to invite everyone to attend our meetings, read our minutes, listen to our cd’s or simply ask us questions. We will be having a Town Hall Meeting in the future and will keep you aware of that well in advance.

We heartily invite you to witness our Town’s new Master Plan come together during this year!
