Welcome to the Standish PTO!
Who are we?
Standish PTO is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-based community service organization serving Edna Libby and George E Jack Schools in the Bonny Eagle MSAD 6 school district. We are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to the successful education of our students.
We are here to help the school community by providing support to the teachers, staff, students, and their families. While the PTO does host a few fundraisers throughout the year, the funds raised all go back to the students and school. The PTO hosts and sponsor family movie nights, Scholastic book fairs, The Holiday Extravaganza, sledding parties, and The Spring Fling and more.
Monies raised by the PTO allow us to provide classroom teachers and support staff with an annual reimbursement of $125 each for classroom supplies, pay for field trips and in school programs, purchase field day t-shirts for each student, supply the nurses offices with snacks and clothing, and host events to thank our teachers and support staff during teacher appreciation week.
How can you help?
For the Standish PTO to continue to support our schools and provide the programs and events listed above, we need volunteers!
We would love to meet families, parents/guardians, and grandparents who would like to get involved! Everything we do requires volunteers, and we are looking to you to help make a difference in the lives of our children. Every parent/guardian is already a member of the PTO, and we encourage you to get involved!
You do not need to attend every meeting or event. There are many volunteer opportunities such as baking for bake sales, joining event subcommittees, assisting at book fairs, and more.
Join us!
Volunteer your time. Come to meetings. Read the minutes. Give us your thoughts. Ask questions. Everyone is busy, but finding a little time to help contribute to your child’s educational experience will be rewarding for you and for them. It’s a wonderful investment that will produce lasting benefits.
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month and look forward to meeting you!
