Welcome to Second Helpings!
This is a community café, established to intercept perfectly good food that would otherwise go to waste. The café is run by a team of volunteers who aim to turn the rescued food into delicious, nutritious meals that are available to all diners on a Pay-As-You-Feel basis – your choice is to donate whatever value you feel your food was worth and this can be in the form of money or time, if you would like to help as a one-time or regular volunteer.
Our inspiration is Adam Smith and The Real Junk Food Project and you can read all about it here.
Thanks to the generous support of the Trinity Methodist Church, we can be found in the Church Hall every Saturday from 12pm to 3pm, starting on Saturday, 3 October, 2015. This can be accessed via Barn Hill or North Street.
