He claimed the title in front of his parents Wayne and Anne and a knowledgeable crowd at Nottingham, beating Dylan Williamson Hodges from Gloucester in straight sets 7-4, 6-0.
Also representing Spalding Lightning IBC, Aspinall had earlier reached the semi-finals in a three-match round robin series before defeating another Mid-Glos IBC junior Louie Hodges in a thrilling, best-of-three ends tie-break 4–5, 8-2 (2-1).
It has been a memorable indoor season for the youngster who won the British Isles junior pairs with former Stamford star Ollie Jeapes in Scotland.
He also reached the semi-finals of the English Under 25 singles at Poole earlier this year.
Recognised by the England selectors as being a mature player, beyond his years, encouraging his team-mates with his support at skip and with a great all round game of his own, Owen started playing at a Stamford IBC Open day only just over a decade ago and has progressed to playing in the club’s men’s and mixed leagues.
He was also a member of the Lincs Under 18 team that won the national county championship and the Spalding Under 30 mixed double rink (alongside clubmate Stamford Stephen Harris) which reached the semi-finals before losing to Solihull, the eventual winners.
Both Aspinall and Harris contest the Lincs County finals at Sleaford this weekend - Aspinall in the Under 25 singles and Harris in the men’s singles against new English champion Dominic McVittie, who with Jordan Philpott also won the English men’s pairs.
Stamford’s Christine Ford and Neil Wright also contest the mixed pairs.

The funeral of Brian Edwards will take place at Peterborough Crematorium on Thursday, May 7 at 12 noon.
A late rally of seven shots in six ends, from the rink of Ken Rawlins, Dave Morgan, Clive Parker and John V Pearson, when trailing 10-14, earned Stamford’s B team consolation points from the visit of Dunholme.
The 17-15 win was by no means enough but it was a consolation in a season that carried the flag for the club after the Stamford ‘A’ team withdrew, unable to raise enough players to fulfil a tough fixture list.
Both teams will contest the county league next season, when the format returns to a regional north and south basis.
Commented ‘B’ team captain John Suffling, who will run the team again in 2026-27: “A big thank you to all the players who have stepped in to play, enabling the team to fulfil all our fixtures.”
